| Here at Sunshine we rely on the generosity, support and commitment from a variety of funding resources. Sunshine has a strong network of private and individual donors who comprise our annual giving. Foundations, corporate and private, as well as businesses and corporations throughout the metropolitan Kansas City area also contribute to each child’s success at Sunshine when they join the Sunshine family of donors.
Every donation goes directly to supporting programs and services that benefit children with developmental delays, medical needs and physical disabilities. Your gift could be the key to expanding a Sunshine program to a child in need. Sunshine Center is also partially funded through the Bi-County United Way. Designating your United Way contribution to Sunshine Center is an easy way to make your gift go a long way to helping children with disabilities receive the services they need to lead successful lives. Memorial and Honor GiftsYou may choose to make your gift as a memorial tribute to honor the life of a precious loved one or friend or by honorarium to celebrate a special event or the special someone in your life. All gifts are acknowledged personally, both to the donor and the family of the deceased or honoree. In Kind ContributionsIn Kind contributions help defray our everyday operational costs. Gifts of all types are welcomed including: Grocery store gift certificates, discount store gift certificates (Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart), and gently used toys, books, and clothing. See our Wish List. Matching ContributionsMany companies match an employee’s charitable contribution through a Matching Gift Program. You can increase the impact of your own charitable gift by securing a matching gift from your company. Please contact your human resources representative for matching gift information. Planned GiftLeave a legacy that honors your life and your family by making a charitable planned gift to Sunshine Center. Making Sunshine the beneficiary of your life insurance and making a bequest, gift annuity, charitable remainder trust or unitrust are all planned gift options that you can participate in.
